Fresh Fields Retirement Home For Horses provides retirement livery located on a small secluded farm situated in the heart of Shropshire, just a few miles from the historic market town of Bridgnorth.
Fresh Fields Equine Retirement Home offers a safe environment and professional service for retirement livery and horse convalescence. We have horses from across the UK including the Midlands, Shropshire, Worcestershire, Oxfordshire, Herefordshire, London & the Home Counties, even as far afield as Abu Dhabi.
The farm is run by Sally Hamilton-French, who’s love of horses spans over 63 years. When Sally moved to Muckley Farm, and its surrounding 58 acres, she made the decision she wanted to share her life and love with horses. The positive decision was to offer horses in their retirement the chance to live the rest of their lives in a happy and safe environment.
It is this big love that has made Fresh Fields a horse retirement home of some standing, but in order to keep the standards it must be noted their are only limited spaces available and unfortunately it is unable to offer free homes.

My deeply loved horse is having some extended R&R time at Freshfields while he (hopefully) recovers from a soft tissue injury in his hoof. He is relaxed and seems happy there, and I'm hugely grateful for the regular video updates I get from Sally and the team. It's obvious they know what they're doing, and really care about the horses in their care. I'm really grateful for not having to worry about how he's doing.

He is treated like a prince and given care and attention and, even more importantly, love. Sally, Lauren and the team care for their charges as though they were their own and nothing is too much trouble. I visit whenever I want - no need to make an appointment - and in between I receive photos and videos and reports. I am delighted with everything about Freshfields and would highly recommend them.

The owner Sally Hamilton French is a wonder lady and she and the staff are very knowledgeable. I like to see my horse every week because I miss the contact, but if I could not go I would not have a moments worry as to the way he is being looked after.

She has gained weight, made a new best friend and is clearly very happy. Sally and Lauren are lovely and care for the horses like they are their own. I was very nervous about moving Alpha somewhere new at her age (27) and trusting her care to someone other than me but I need not have worried. I feel lucky to have found Freshfields and I know Alpha is going to love every minute of her retirement in such a haven of peace and tranquility.
